A MailStore archive physically (i.e. On the storage) consists of individual archive stores, each with its own database, search indexes and data containers. By default, MailStore Server automatically creates and activates a new archive store every 5 million emails to immediately archive new emails in it.
Has anyone migrated their mail archives from MailStore to Office365.I'm looking at starting a project to do this and would appreciate any input from those who may have experience with this process.Right now I'm planning on the following simplistic approach:1 - Export archive emails from MailStore into a.PST file (supported by MailStore).2 - Import the.pst file into office365 online archive (supported by MS).I'll be testing the feasibility over the weekend with a test account. My concerns are on the size of the MailStore file and the length of time the process will take on both sides.
I'm also concerned about the integrity of such a process on large files without using a tool to do this. Finally, I'll be reviewing the functionality of MailStore access versus MS Archive. I'm expecting MailStore to be much more robust and faster. We'll see of MS Archive access will support the user before migrating. This is a feasibility s exercise at this stage.Any thoughts would be appreciated. I'll post my findings.
